Scottish Island Ferries
We have travelled around some of the western islands of scotland using Caladonian MacBrayne. The shorter crossings are usually the type where you stay in your vehicle during the crossing. Although there is usually a small seating area and cafe plus space to walk around the deck, albeit amongst the other vehicles. Crossings between Dunoon and Gourock take around 20 minutes and take you right onto the Cowal Peninsula -the gateway to Loch Lomond and the Troassachs National Park and the way forward to destinations such as Tighnabruaich, Inveraray, Kintyre and Oban. Gourock is about 45 minutes drive from Glasgow. | |||||||||
