Smile Do AA/RAC/Green Flag or others provide a service for checking a motorhome?

    Hi,

Thanks for letting me join the group! I've had a large caravan for years, and travelled with my husband for long periods of time in France, Spain and Portugal, but am now switching to a small motorhome instead of a caravan, as unable to tow and I have mobility issues. I've seen one I'd like to buy, but heard somewhere that you can get the RAC and suchlike to do a check for you, to make sure it is roadworthy, has no damp and no outstanding finance on it. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Thank you in anticipation of your replies!

Hi welcome to our friendly forum.

A quick search reveals that the AA do indeed do vehicle inspections including motorhomes, you can read about it here.

Yes, I had the AA round to check our new campervan, just for my peace of mind. It was the mechanics of the vehicle that he checked rather than the pod.

You can also check the MOT history of the vehicle

    https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history

It will give you an idea of any issues and if they have been rectified.
