Default Meeting Room Spring Rally Sherwood Forest

We've had a phone call from the Sherwood Forest camp site to say that the Social Hall was badly damaged in the recent storm so we will no longer be able to use it on Saturday night for our Bring and Share Supper.

This is a real shame because it is somewhere warm and dry if the weather is inclement and was a huge success last time, there are no suitable pubs within walking distance either, if the weather is fine, which we hope it is, we will be able to have an open air get together, we no longer have the large gazebo as that fell foul to the weather at the last meet.

Any suggestions welcome for Saturday night, has anyone got a large awning or shelter we could use? Or maybe put two or three together?

    Hi Graham
Our son has a Coleman canopy as in the photo, not sure if it the 12'x12' or the 15'x15', so we will bring that along.

My parents have a large double Gazebo but not sure they will have room for it in the van, will ask them.

Thanks everyone, perhaps if we put as many large awnings as we can in a ring then Colin's Coleman canopy in the middle of the ring it will make a nice fairly weather proof area for people to mingle with the food in the middle under the canopy on tables.

They are forcasting sunshine in Stourport-on-Seven for Saturday,
so maybe it will OK in Sherwood Forest?
Now why would I be returning to Stourport again?
Another family wedding you see. Gosh I do feel old with all these
youngsters getting hitched. Being the most decrepit wrinkly in the family,
they will insist in putting me in the front row on photos. I hate it.
    Have a good weekend everybody.

Ah, but Graham is talking about the April rally. The weather forecast for Kingsbury this coming weekend appears to be good.

It it is a bit confusing with all these meets going on.

Wall to wall sunshine and and temperatures around 12-14 degrees for Kingsbury, you heard it here first.

Just a reminder for those attending the meet, we are hoping to have a mass BBQ on the Friday night, please bring your own food and BBQ if you have one and we will get together and eat our food together.

On the Saturday night we are hoping to have a bring and share supper, we can no longer use the meeting room as it was damaged in a storm, so we are hoping to have it in the middle of the field, if you wish to participate please bring some food/drink to share, the idea is that we put them all on tables and everyone digs in, buffet style food is probably most suitable. Both these events are weather dependent although at the moment the weather forecast says it will be dry both nights, so fingers crossed.

The large awnings mentioned by Colin and Rob will be very welcome in case of inclement weather, if they are able to bring them.

Why not get all the Motorhomes in a big circle and sew a load of Tarps together to make a roof in the Middle

We are on our way, via a couple of campsites. That awning is on board, very heavy, will need volunteers to get it out of the van, never mind put it up!
