Important Forum Announcement

An exciting new home for the Small Motorhome Camping Forum!

The decision to move has not been taken lightly. We have been giving much thought over the last few months about moving the Forum to a better home, the recent demise of Yahoo/Geocities confirmed our worries - you should always own your own site or it could be lost if the host decides to give it all up! We were worried that if proboards did the same we would lose everything so decided the time was right to move the Forum to our own hosting.

So you can now find the Forum on a wonderful new vBulletin arrangement, it has some excellent new features such as the option to view all the messages since your last visit, today's posts and much more.

The forum can now be found here:

www.smallmotorhome.co.uk/forum

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:

If you are a registered member you will need to go to the new forum and register again (you cannot just log in - you need to actually register) using your current username - once registered you can have your post count updated to what it was on the old forum, I will do this as members join. Click here to go to the register page

If you have forgotten your username: You can either register on the new forum with a new name or contact me via the new site and I will try to find out what it was for you.

If you are not currently a member - just go to the new forum and register - we will be pleased to have you as a member. If there was a particular thread on the old forum that you wanted to join in with let us know and we will start it again in the new forum.

What happens to the old forum?

This will not be closed down, but will be kept as an archive to all the threads and posts in there, as they cannot be taken to the new forum.

If you are a current member you will still be able to log in and access your private messages and take any information from them, but you will not be able to post new messages - please do this in the new forum. You can use any custom avatars and signatures that you had there - simply copy and paste them into your member profile on the new forum

Recent threads will be kept open for a short while to allow people to post answers but you will not be able to start any NEW threads, please do them in the new forum - your help is appreciated.

If you need any help please do ask, we are more than happy to help and will even phone you if you wish to talk you through the registration or posting.

If you link to the forum

If you have a link to the forum on your own website please would you update the link to the new one - thank you.

Posts on the old forum

I cannot bring these into the new forum but will link to the where possible. However, if you have any posts that you would like to repeat on the new forum please feel free to copy and paste them into the new forum. This includes old posts or any recent ones.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused but I'm sure it won't be long until the new forum feels just like home!

Any problems let us know. email forum@smallmotorhome.co.uk

As many of you know I already run a very successful vBulletin forum for childminders, with over 5,500 members, I did the same move with them a few years ago and it worked fine so I have no worries that this will work the same.

Best wishes

Pauline and Graham

P.S. if you use www.smallmotorhomeforum.co.uk to access the forum, that will change soon, once everyone knows about the move
