Situated in the foothills of the Jura moutains and on the edge of Lake Chalain.

We felt that the facilities, while well maintained and pleasant, were not as clean as they could be - a bin full (and overflowing) of dirty disposable nappies was left in the communal area for more than two days. Pot washing and vegetable preparation sinks were outdoors and got covered in fallen leaves/tree debris/roof moss etc. even in the slightest wind but they were only cleaned ever two or three days.

It is more like a self contained village with it's own small supermarket, butcher, delicatessen, baker and launderette plus shops selling beach wear, clothes, camping goods and accessories. This proves useful as it is quite a drive to the nearest town that has shops and supermarkets. However, prices in the camp shops do reflect this.

It is a massive site, we visited in June and found that although it was big it was relatively quiet but can imagine that in the high season it could get busy and noisy.

Pitches are large, most are separated by shrubs and hedges but some are in open rows.

Restaurant and take away serving good food.

Large landscaped swimming pool, indoor and out with flume and sauna.

Fishing, swimming and boating are permitted on the lake and there is a small area of sand to use as a beach area.

Cycle hire available - you can cycle around the lake, through the little village and back into the campsite or head off where you like.

Several colour coded walks from the site take you up into the hills for walks ranging from a pleasant stroll to several miles.
